404 can mean a Roland SP-404. Roland SP-404 is a famous sampler used a lot by beatmakers and DJs. Also you can hear variation like "four-o-four", "404SX", "404OG". 404-SX is a newer version of original 404. Original 404 can be named like "Roland SP-404OG".
