Emotive Hardcore music/scene kids. EMO IS NOT GOTH. to clear this up: Goths are much more dark and want to kill everyone. Emos: Less dark and only want to kill selfs. NOW that that's cleared up, emo is NOT DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL! Emotive Hardcore music came in the 90's from D.C. Two of the most famous bands from that time period: Rites of Spring and Sunny Day Real Estate. I highly recommend those ^_^. emo doesn't mean tight pants and tight skull shirts. It's a mindset.

Alexa: DAMN IT, JARED! THAT'S NOT EMO!

stupid spoilt rich kids who like to cry and cut themselves over "how hard life is". have stupid hair, usually dyed black. most of them say they are bi because they think its cool, not because they are. they listen to crappy bands such as my chemical romance, the used etc. guys wear girls skinny jeans because "theyre tighter". they have at least 1,000 myspace friends because they dont have any in real life. they can overlap with scene kids. some emos used to be chavs or preps until emo became fashionable, then they decided they wanted to be in and became emo.

emo kid 1: omg my life sucks my girlfriend just broke up with me *cries*
emo kid 2:aww lets go listen to some mcr while we cut ourselves

taking everything cool and anti establishment out of punk rock and listening to MTV, radio, mainstream Bullcrap.
Punk rock= Sex Pistols, The Clash, Crass, Blitz, Liberty Spikes, Leather Jackets, taking action on the establishment and kicking ass.

Emo= Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance, Wool Sweaters, Tacky clothing, guyliner,Bitching about how good your suburban lifestyles are and how mean your parents are even when they spoil you rotten.

Punk says "FUCK THOSE FUCKERS MAN KILL EM ALL."~Cliff Burton(he's metal but oh well I really wanted to put that in writing)
