Instead of looking back on what you have done with pride, it is more akin to wallowing in your own regret as a way to punish yourself into doing better in the future.
In the case of Jerry Cantrell, it comes as a looking back at his time in the band Alice In Chains before the tragic death of lead singer Layne Staley.
