It's an old movie trope (One example of which is the movie "The Princess Bride") where someone tries to poison someone else by pouring 2 cups of the same drink and poisoning the cup intended for the other person. The person being poisoned "switches the cups" and turns the tables on the poisoner.
Evil poisoner gerl "Here. Let's have a drink."
Iam "Oh, hey, sure."

And maybe that's why he wasn't punished. Because if you are willing to Sin against me; why should I not Sin against you? And that's why the retaliatory violence always escalates 7 fold. That's where the feedback loop started. The snake eating it's own tail. Because (at the time) there were only 9 Sins and There were only 4 people. And no one had ever killed anyone before. Which Sin was it and what makes you think Abel was the good one?"
