When you are having a really bad day and everything that can go wrong does, it is not just raining on you, it is monsooning on you instead. Figuratively speaking of course.

Yesterday I was having a lousy day and it felt like it wasn't just raining on me but monsooning on me instead.

It means any form of wasting time, and is often used on social media as a synonym of the word "Doomscrolling". Many people do not like this new definition to the word and oppose it as I do myself but sadly more and more people are using this definition. This meaning the word is also the meaning of the word used in the word "jestergooning". The defintion overtime has been greatly broadened.

Context: (February 2026 meaning) Technically, the term is goongooning as it is a compound, but people really just say gooning. This seems redundant, that because it is, but it is made to make some sort of differentiation between the main meaning of gooning and the second, more niche meaning, which is this one.

"Stop gooning on tiktok bro do your work!"
"He gooned in his bed asleep instead of getting up when he knew he had stuff to do".
