Disturbed

One of the more respected heavy metal bands to be lumped in with nu metal but they had more Industrial Metal and Thrash Metal ties than their counterparts in the 2000s , in the 1996 they were known as Brawl. One of the member's siblings were in an early incarnation of female fronted Industrial Metal act Grigori 3 where they're rooted in thrash and a wide range of influences. I heard them when Brawl was practicing as their sound back them was much faster Pantera without the electronics. David Draiman's distinct vocal echoing that of a chimpanzee-like bark on Down with the Sickness just was the tip of their dark iceberg. They're a spiritual successor to Circle of Dust like Fashion Bomb with their second album, Circle of Dust with their return was showing he's darker than Fear Factory's 1995 masterpiece.

Disturbed is one of Chicago metal's success stories along with Ministry and Fashion Bomb (the latter has a track on their second album that has a solo rivaling Iron Maiden's Wasting Love from Fear of the Dark. They're noted for infusing technical metal into Industrial Metal.)
