burnout band

This is the term used for a band that didn't last very long in the limelight. They probably had their 15 minutes of fame and then split up, or abused drugs, or killed themselves, who knows. This is the term for any band that died out quickly.

Girl: "Why haven't One Direction released anything lately?"
Boy: "Because they split up, they're such a burnout band"

A burnout could mean 2 things

1. Spinning the wheels of a vehicle till they smoke

2. The dude in high school that does nothing but cut class, smoke weed, eats way too much Burger King and/or Taco Bell, and doesn't have a job

Burnout Party

A "party" (more of a gathering) which consists of people doing burnouts in motor vehicles, which is somehow entertaining. It's not like doing burnouts is irresponsible, stupid and puts terrible strains on the engine and drivetrain components of a car...
