burgers vector

The Burgers vector is a material engineers worst nightmare. It defines the magnitude and direction of slip in a crystal lattice but moreover every time it is mentioned (which is a lot) it induces ravenous hunger pains and any semblance of focus drifts to what kind of cheese, bacon or no bacon.

"Hey man, which way is the Burgers vector pointing?" I don't know but let's go get a burger at Bobs Atomic Burgers.
