shake awake

A sudden, violent awakening that occurs when one realizes that he or she has dozed off in public; usually, the venue is a lecture hall. The awakening is rarely soft and is frequently punctuated by a strong shake, wherein the victim will spasm limbs and then pretend as though he or she had been awake the entire time. For a few seconds afterward, the victim will have a hard time thinking clearly and will usually curse the recent violent awakening.

I fell asleep during Microelectronics. In my sleep, I remembered that my binder was precariously balanced on the edge of my desk and the one adjacent. I had the biggest shake awake ever when, in a torrent of irrational dream-thought, I determined that I had to save it from falling, even though there was no chance of that happening.

A person who is extremely clumsy, or who often is sporting bandages covering minor injuries, might be said to be incapable of "walking and chewing gum at the same time".

After the third time in one month that the new office assistant was electrocuted while trying to clear a paper jam in the office copier, the supervisor shook his head and asked the Personnel office to move the employee to another department with no machinery in it, as "this guy can't walk and chew gum at the same time".

Harlem Shake

Most annoying dance trend ever besides Gangnam Style in which both have been plaguing the Internet. The idea of one dancing while everyone else remains unaware and then jump-cuts to where everyone starts dancing along has got to be the most ridiculous shit ever.

Person 1: Dude, Harlem Shake is so funny. You gotta look it up on Youtube. I might as well start one myself.

Person 2: Dude, shut the hell up. As much as you would post links about Kony and change your Facebook pic to that Kony promo pic, you are obviously just wanting to fit in the latest *viral* trends just so you won't feel left out.

same-stepping

A event that occurs when you are walking towards someone and you both try to get out of each other's way but end up choosing the same path.

Walking down the street, hallway, or just walking in general and you see someone coming at you and at the last second you both turn to get out of each other's way, but just get in each other's way again. And then you try to go the other way, and they go that way too. Basically it just keeps going until you either finally guess right or, in the more extreme cases, you decide to just stop and tell the person where you are going.

"We same-stepped for a while before I just decided to stop and ask him which side he wanted to pass me on so I could go the opposite."

"John tried to go to the right, and avoid Jill, but he ended up same-stepping with her. It was an awkward dance."

when you see someone you know and they offer you there hand for a greeting shake as one would at a business interview. However at the last second they try and do some fancy bro shake with you ending in epic fail on all accounts. This usually leaves the unsuspecting recipient feeling ashamed and less then a man.
