Atheism, in its broadest sense, is a lack of belief in a deity or deities. The opposite of theism, this broad definition encompasses both people who assert that there are no gods and those who make no claim about whether gods exist or not. Narrower definitions of atheism typically include only those who assert the nonexistence of gods, excluding non-believing agnostics and other non-theists. it is the burden of the believer to support his or her belief, not the other way around.
A strong believer in reality. What is there is there. And what isn't must be some good drugs or mental illness. Atheists believe that Scientific method should be used for deduction of fact. a set of false positives and true natural thought should prove that talking to air or dirt or trees on fire do not make you a prophet.
Be happy with life on this plane of exsitence. hope in more, or gifts rained down from above is greed.

Jerry Falwell: you unclean godless sinners will all go to hell!
Atheist: Ahem, No, Jerry. Your belief in hell, however strong does not make it real. If God is so great, why are all of his Christian Church leaders touching young boys? Oh Jerry, you are a Church leader, are you touching little boys?
Your belief in ghosts & goblins does not make it so. Ever notice how the words Church and crutch sound so similar? To the average exchange student they do not hear a difference when hearing English.

Get the Atheist mug.In the cycling world, a larger-than-average female rider is often referred to as an "Athena." Most likely called so because the greek goddess being referenced was often portrayed as a strong, larger than life kind of woman. Some women see it as an insult, others take it as a compliment. The jury is still out on its connotation.

Get the Athena mug.Either:
1) Someone who doesn't believe a god exists, but does not interfere with others' beliefs.
2)An elitist faggot who attacks other's beliefs, and saying they have a right to, but will bitch when anybody attacks theirs. Almost a scientologist. Will get extremely butthurt when you say "How did the universe begin? And unexplained explosion out of nowhere". Also are extreme grammar nazis, and newfags. Most common of these type of Atheists are 13-19 year-old pot smokers who troll 4chan.
They also like writing long unrelated paragraphs, and when you say "TLDR" they rage.

Get the Atheist mug.Someone who doesn't believe in any gods, or strongly believes that there is no such thing as a divine being or god.
I contend that we are both atheist. I just belive in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

Get the Atheist mug.A euphemism for being transphobic. Similar to how white supremacists may hide behind "race realist", or how climate change deniers may hide behind "climate skeptic", some transphobes hide behind "gender atheist" to disguise their bigotry.

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, they are named for their beautiful city which often has been called the "Athens of the South" due to their large amount of colleges, schools, and universities and for the Parthenon - the almost exact replica of the ancient Greek temple which stands in Nashville's sister city, Athens, Greece.
These manly men are known throughout their region (Cotton States Region) for their unquestionable brotherhood as well as being the most creative AZA chapter. They are constantly together and doing the same thing - not acting as an exclusive group of people but as a unified body of Alephs who all share a common goal and mindset. They continue to surprise everyone with their antics at Regional Events.
On top of all of this, Athens of the South AZA #258 has a rich history dating back to the 1950's. They have earned many programming and chapter awards, including Chapter of the Year and Most Spirited Chapter.

Get the Athens of the South AZA #258 mug.An atheist is a person who does not believe in the existence of *ANY* god(s). This term is consistently misused in modern society.
- Refusing to worship God doesn't make one an atheist. If one says things like "well God lets this stuff happen, so I don't believe in him...," it demonstrates that one does believe in God, they just choose not to follow him.
- Many self-proclaimed "atheists" actually hate God. Since it is illogical to hate something you profess does not exist, people who hate God cannot by definition be atheists. If your attitude is "well God lets this happen, so screw Him..." then you're not an atheist.
- People who "don't believe in Jesus" aren't atheists, they're just not Christians. Jews don't believe in Jesus either, that doesn't make them atheists.
- People who say "I'll find out when I get there" aren't atheists, they're agnostics.
- People who join a "National Organization of Atheists" are not atheists; if you don't believe something exists, you don't make a society dedicated to not believing it exists. That's nonsense.

There are very few true atheists in the world. Most "atheists" are actually just people with an axe to grind with God.
