Coughtation Mark, (Noun) Is the use in text, and in verbal speech, of the word "cough" or by emulating the bodily function of "coughing" to humorously hide and or interject a snarky phrase or comment during conversation, usually meant to possibly annoy one person, while potentially amusing others present or partaking in said conversation.

Female: Did you just say "cough"
