Gear Check

The awkward occasion where a person greets you with a standardized salutation but immediately proceeds to look you up and down to size up the gear you're rockin'. This visual violation usually starts with your shoes and slowly works its way up to your headpiece. Common culprits involve but are not limited to bouncers, interviewers, blind dates, and jail "line up" cops.

Bobby the Bouncer: "Hey man you and your buddy are gonna have to wait in line like everybody else. Oh hey what's up bro, come on in...these guys are losers."

Wing Man: "Yo son, you see that bouncer dude? He totally gear checked your cardigan right now and let those guys in with the shiny shirts.

Victim: "Eff this, let's go play some warcraft"
