Being stuck in the friendzone means that you aren't able to have more than a friendly relationship with that special someone you are attracted to. However, it is wrongly perceived as a state that only males can go through. As a female, I can assure you that women can also be friendzoned.

They especially cockblock on social media, always the first to comment on their crush's pics with heart or kissy face emojis trying to appear to others as if they're more than a friend to their crush. The premium version of friendzone. Reserved for specific cases where someone in a relationship can't date but they still try anyway. Then the other person starts treating them less and less like someone special and eventually starts to flat out ignore them. Even worse if the person thinks it's completely their fault for not being good enough and devolves into being constantly lonely and never feeling anything but hopeless and useless. They just turn into "some kid who she used to want."
