An affliction that causes considerable problems for people who become so expert at their chosen line of study or research that no one can understand those who have expertitis.
I've become so expert at dealing with highly specialized cases of wrongfully arrested cases that I have difficulty teaching my craft to others. That's Expertitis.
That's problematic because the truth is that a law degree is of no use to any would be expert who wants to specialize in the sort of cases that I deal with.
I have a 100% success rate, but "Expertitis" makes it difficult for me to understand why amateurs can't do what I do.

One who excels at doing nothing while appearing busy to others. The expert can fool co-workers and bosses alike.
In her sales job, Beth is required to hit daily call goals in order to meet expectations and keep the monkeys off her back. By dialing mostly disconnected or fax numbers, Beth's sales director is completely fooled and regularly congratulates her on hitting or exceeding goal. Beth is seen as successful and often referenced as an example for "activity pays". Beth has mastered being a suspended activity expert at work.

A person, usually but by no means always a man, who can be relied upon to hijack any topic of conversation to parade their own knowledge of the subject, however sketchy that might be.
Examples:
Person: This is a great sandwich, is there avocado in here?
Badger Expert: I know a bloke who imports avocados and he was saying that the harvest this year is very poor because of new water extraction rules (continues interminably)
Person: I heard David bought a boat now he has a new job
Badger Expert: I’ll tell you about owning a boat; my mate has two up on the East coast and he says the most interesting thing is (continues at length)
Person: There was a dead badger on the road outside my house this morning
Badger Expert: Badgers, is it now? I read a long blog by the fellow in charge of gassing badgers for the Environment Agency and the thing most people don’t realise is (continues, possibly with diagrams)

For God’s sake don’t mention beekeeping to Julia’s dad, he’s a noted badger expert
I was just telling Merlin about that house we looked at and I got twenty minutes of badger expertise on the finer points of property law

The expert method is a kind of theoretical thinking developed in Malmo, Sweden. The method is powered by having a group of assigned "experts" that state facts with questions such as: Are the dinosaurs really extinct? The "experts" will then state their answers/opinions an conclude a result by the average of the results. The method is currently used for confirming facts in learning purposes.
Expert method:
questioner: Is he done playing the game?
expert 1. Yes
expert 2. yes
expert 3. no
expert 4. yes
expert 5.no
questioner: The result is a "strong maybe"
