Make hay while the sun shines

To take an opportunity to do something when the time and conditions are near perfect or available.

From agriculture, when farmers gather the long grass growth of summer to dry it to produce hay as winter feed for animals; The best time to cut and dry the hay is during sunny days.

A:"There's a sale at K-mart this week - You wanna see if the have something for your sister's birthday?"
B:" Sure - Might as well make hay while the sun shines, and get her something at cut price!"

shive

Word originated in New Orleans (where i am from). It is a 1990's word that started in new orleans that means cool, tight, nice, or anything of that nature. In the Bigtymers(who are from new orleans) song "still fly" when he says "dont got no job, but im stay shive." most people think he says "sharp" when infact, he says shive. most people dont know the word shive, so they assume he says sharp, which he doesn't.

if you look good you can say something like..."man, i look shive today dont i?" or if they have a good looking car or something, you could say, "man, thats a shive car." you can use it in the place of "cool".

Shiestiness

Verb. Mental : Someone performing shiestiness is basically someone being deceiving, manipulative; and more often than not end up usually having negative alternate intentions. (Characteristics include but are not limited to someone who will lie to your face and play games with your emotions and get off on doing things behind your back, will often easily burn bridges than face guilt.
