Pacific Palisades, or "Pali," is a small town, hidden between Santa Monica, Malibu and Brentwood. A television show was made based on the town, although it did not resemble the town whatsoever. Most youth residents raised there learn to surf from age 7 and attend private schools such as the Palisades Village School. Dress code is prodimantly beach preppy wear dominated by designers LaCoste, Tretorns and Ralph Lauren. Many residents are Jewish and connected to the entertainment industry, and the few minorities are of Asian decent. Will Rogers's name is every where, and the Paul Getty Museum is the pride of Pali. Homes are expensive and zoning limits multiple dwelling. The town is much like New Canaan, CT transplated surfside on the westcoast. Neighboring Brentwood would be equivalent to Greenwich, CT.

Her best memories of Pacific Palisades included: senior day at Pali High to go surf with the kids from Samo (Santa Monica High School), lunches at Mort's, ice cream at Baskin Robbins, shopping at Gelson's for fruit, buying surfboards from Maui & Son's, and shopping on Montana Avenue.

One of the largest railroads in the world, the second largest freight carrier in Canada next to CN. A major player in the transportation sector, this company breaks profit records yearly, while treating its burnt out workforce like garbage. Trains are regularly staffed by tired, overworked crewmembers. Hard working junior employees are often rewarded for their hard work and committment by being laid off or forced to work in terminals 200 km away.
On call 24/7, most railroad employees have a poor social life, with high rates of infidelity rampant at both hotels for the crewmembers and at home with the wives while their husbands are at work. Pay is relatively poor for the hours worked: while many employees make $80,000 or more per year, they often log well over 3000 hours of service, which puts them in the same payscale as a manager of 7-11.

Joe can't come out for drinks tonight because he's 10 times out and doesn't know who is going to book sick ahead of him, which is typical when you are a loser who works for Canadian Pacific.

Union Pacific

Union Pacific is an awesome railroad. It is the only class one railroad in the United States with an active steam program. The railroad owns and operates a northern and a challenger type steam locomotive. Union Pacific helped Central Pacific to build the transcontinental railroad across the United States.

I wish I could railfan the Union Pacific line.

Just about THE BEST FREKKIN TOWN EVER. Grew up here, and still live here and its just so AMAZING. Sooooo much better than HMB, (who can suck it) because our high schools kick the crap out of every sport they do. SO HAHAHAHA P TOWN RULES
