Virtue signalling is when somebody superficiality advertises their support for a cause and goes out of their way to publicly condemn others in order to seek validation. Drawing attention to their self righteousness to appear morally superior.

Karen: “You’re a jerk because you wear Nike, don’t you know they exploit people overseas”.
