Scene/ Scenester / Scene Kid is a person who is associated with the MUSIC SCENE, usually being hardcore/punk rock type music. Pays close attention to the latest fashion trends and usually tries to make it their own. Usually has a myspace featuring dinosaurs guns etc. Sometimes they are very elitist especially to youths who copy their personal styles.
Apearence: Tight band shirts, shirts with random pictures on them like bright dinosaurs and guns, tight girl pants, bandanas around neck and wrists, converse or skate shoes, choppy self-cut hair many times dyed/streaked, hoodies, no hats, bright colors, piercings, www.hottopic.com for most scene clothing examples
Music: Scenesters /Scene Kids are all about the music! they LOVE music with a PASSION and know tons of underground bands and listen to almost anything as long as its not too "mainstream" or too "pop/country"
Attitude: Scenesters /Scene Kids are very happy, have very high self-esteem, are very RANDOM, care alot about personal appearance, are very social, and are very stuck up, and love random things like dinasours and robots, guns and stars and whales, mudkips
Activities: Shows/Parties/Myspace where they have tons of friends, finding new music
Negativity1: Many Scenesters /Scene Kids are said to be posers, lack originality, try-hard to look like their favorite band. BUT you can say the same for ALL stereotypes, the hiphop, punk, goth, metal, jock, prep, harajuku, weeaboo, furry, pretty much any fashion following stereotypes out there
Negativity2: Others mistake Scene for Emo but they are NOT the same. Emo kids are so sad to the point of killing themselves or atleast act like it. and Emocore don't wear girl pants

Get the scenester mug.Basically, the life and fire of whatever scene she's into. The small, close-knit world of emo, screamo, hardxcore, punk, or whatever scene she is into follow her like a deity. She is god, she is the Virgin Mary.
There are a few ways to spot a scene queen, even if you arn't in her crew.
~Everyone's "I'm so scene" story involves her in some way. (i.e. "O-m-g, we were all slam dancing at this show last weekend and (insert SQ's name here) was like...")
~ She has an Armanda of people around her at all times (a lot of the time, she actually hates a lot of these people)
~She has a photography group, band, zine, newspaper, clothing line, or some other creative outlet. Moreover, unlike everyone else's in that scene, her's is actually good/popular.
~She is actually comfortable with herself. Most of the wannabee SQ's will be total bitches just to try to get closer to her or fool people into thinking they are important, but she reigns all. She is comfortable with herself and gives an air of it.

Get the scene queen mug.Someone that acts as a sheep and follows the general crowd, or scene. The popular scene at the moment is emo, and many can be found roaming the streets of England's towns and cities, like a giant army of long fringed clones, shouting "MCR ROCK!", "I <3 Gerard Way" and "The world hates me and i hope i die soon"

Get the scenester mug.A scene chick/scene girl.
First of all they are awesome. The fun part about being scene is that you have great confidence in who you are and what you like. They pride themselves with looking perfect even when they arent leaving the house. The makeup is always done to perfection and not a hair out of place.
Hair is usually black with streaks of different colours, somtimes coontails. Hair consists of two main layers: the top layer wich is usually choppy and short (like jaw length) and the underneath layer that is longer and straight. ( three words: Teasing and Hairspray!)
Makeup: Lots of eyeliner (pencil eyeliner on the bottom, Liquid on the top). Sometimes bright eyeshaddow or black eyeshaddow. Foundation is sometimes put on the lips to make them look lighter.
Most scene girls have piercings, usually snakebites or a septum ring or gauges.
They wear tight skinnys, tight band ts, hoodies with bright colors, layering colorful tank-tops is common. Jewelry such as Hello Kitty necklaces.
They all have to have a myspace and facebook and bebo page.
Scene girls wont hesitate to tell you what they think of you, the good news about that is they will probly tell you youre pretty. They are not bitchy. Most are not as arrogant as people think. Most people just mistake having confidence in the way you look as being conceited.

Get the Scene Chick mug.5 words: "Admit it" by Say Anything. Sums up the whole scene idea and how i feel about it. Being "scene" is just another useless trend people are following because they arent confident enough to just be themselves. It has absolutely nothing to do with music and everything to do with being better than everyone else.
being scene:"its the same superiority complex shared by the highschool jocks and it makes you a slave to the competetive capitalist dogma you spend every moment of your waking life bitching about"

Get the Scene mug.A subculture amongst teens and early twenties. Typical scene kids have shaggy hair, vintage clothing, and heavy eye makeup. Unlike the kids of the 90s, scene kids will often embrace the 80s and are very much influenced by the era. Most people who were teenagers during the 90s dislike scene kids and are apparently attacking them on this website. What they fail to realise is that each generation has it's own identity and it's own trends. When you get to a certain age you start disliking new trends, it happens with everyone. It'll happen to the scenesters too eventually.
Scene kids also may be influenced by Japanese street fashion, the 50s, 70s glam, 60s mod, ect. There is a wide variety of scene kids and while there are some obvious similarities, such as cigarette jeans, saying they are all the same just proves you have no idea what you're talking about. But for the record, I have yet to meet a scene kid who claims to be a non-conformist.

Get the scene mug.Kids who long to be "different" and are interested in anime.
Highly mistaken for "emo" kids, but no, they are very different.
Usually if you find a scene kid, they are in a group of other scene kids. They usually have over-straightend, poorly-teased hair (either black with streaks of read or other obnoxiously bright colors, or bleach blonde) and way too much eye makeup (including the guys)
They usually hangout at the mall or concerts. Most likely if you see one, they are standing around talking to one another and having no life.
More than half of their lives are spent on Myspace.
Usually have a weird obsession with Hello Kitty and/or Mitchell Davis.
99.9% of them reside in Jacksonville, Florida.
Sometimes decide to change their orientation so they draw attention to themselves.
Sometimes have 2 names, like EddieExtinction, to show their wonderful creativity.
Are extremely pale. By choice.

John: Your clothes are too tight. Did they shrink in the dryer?
EddieExtinction: No. Tight clothes are different, so I wear them. Cause I'm a scene kid. And that's what scene kids do.
