Head Beefing

The act of brushing another person’s hair very hard in a frustrated manner to the point of causing scalp pain. The phrase is derived from the comparison of the hairbrushing to tenderizing a piece of beef.

Mom was usually very stressed getting the children ready for church, therefore they often got their heads beefed.

Fair Bite of the Beef

An Australian expression of mateship, celebration and affirmation. Typically used at social functions and barbecues, or to build rapport with strangers on public transport. Not to be confused with the phrase 'fair lunch of the lamb' - a much-scorned English phrase.

Also commonly used to express appreciation for someone who's overcome great adversity.
