Granite Run Mall

shittiest fucking mall ever. that doesn't stop the kids from coming here though.. this mall becomes a 2nd home to teenagers in the area during winter when it's too cold to walk around state street. it's not like there's anything better to do.

Pretty soon every store in the Granite Run Mall will go out of business except Panda Express and Auntie Anne's, because that's where all the kids go.

End Run

"End Run" means a deviation from some standard, settled means, procedure, practice, or norm. There is an implication of surreptitious behavior. The phrase is derived from the American football offensive "trick play" in which a team typically fakes a sweep with nearly all players to one side of the field but hands the ball off to the end (typically lined up well away from the main group of players) who heads across field in exactly the opposite direction of the flow. Generally the defense does not expect the end to get the ball and will not be watching him in this type of scenario. It will often work at most once a game, because once the defense is burnt on the play, they are watching for it.

Jane did not attend the board meeting for the proposed city housing project, nor did she submit papers for the project. Instead, she ran an end run as she simply found five guys to start building the housing project and paid for the work out of the milk fund. This was legal as it took advantage of an obscure line in a 50,000 page rule book nobody was aware of. After this, the city council became wary and passed a new law regarding housing starts -- they need council approval.

midnight run

When people abandon their business and/or home, leaving quickly in the middle of the night. Abandoned houses will reveal clues about the former occupants. It is generally considered that people do a Midnight Run because of financial troubles, however it also may be to evade an abusive spouse, or to evade the law.

indian run

An indian run is when a team (soccer, football, baseball, etc.) joggs in a single file line around a playing field field. It begins when the last person in line sprints to the front. When that person gets there, the next person at the end of the line sprints to the front of the line. This continues as the line jogs around the field. Very tiring.

Not sure if this is a racist term.

Mom - "Hi Sweetie. How was soccer practice?"

Me - "It sucked. Coach was pissed and made us do indian runs for an hour."
