2)punk rock band from berkley. The original named was sweet children. In 1989 they changed their name to green day. this was a northern california slang term which meant to stay at home and smoke weed.

A great band unfortunately ruined by the new wave of teeny bopper followers who sadly only know of about 4 songs all of which come from the newest of the bands albums "American Idiot" which if honest fails in comparison to the bands work on albums such as kerplunk and dookie both of which are essentials if you really are a true Green Day fan, if you do not own these albums and don't like their origonal punk orogins then you don't call yourself a true fan.

A true Green Day fan owns one of the albums before warning i.e: nimrod,kerplunk,dookie or 1039 smoothed out slappy hours.

A "true" teeny bopper fan of the band will think that boulevard of broken dreams is the best record ever produced and generally believe that punk itself is well crap.

Green Day

A very good band that originally smoked themselves retarted then wrote up bad ass meaningful lyrics. Kerplunk and 1,039 kicked everyones ass, and dookie is a classic, insomniac made them cooler, nimrod dido, warning again classic, american idiot teased but didn't put out.

Myself: Hey dude wanna go down to the park and smoke 3 bowls then listen to Green Day, and Dre.

Green Day

one of the greatest bands ever. IF you morons understood American Idiot, you'd probably like it... its a rock opera people (see the Who's Quadraphenia), its a story... you cant make fun of a single because all of the songs are connected... christ.
