these people get these marks, and act like its the end of the world for them so that they get pity and attention, these are also the types of people to meaninglessly remind teachers about homework or tell the teacher to suspend a student due to a minor inconvenience

When someone has pulled a mark, they have screwed up by making a small error that is usually obvious in hindsight/review, and the error drastically affects the result in a negative way. Pulling a mark is common when advanced math is involved.

I pulled a mark yesterday on my math quiz when I forgot to add a negative sign at the beginning.
