Being apologetic won't bring George Floyd back, but an officer acknowledging that he/she isn't perfect or always right, even if he/she is a decent guy/ girl, and more people would get to live all the years they were meant to live, the same full life as the one that the officers will get to live.
Everybody has had some kind of error in their ways somewhere. If they were a computer, they'd have a lower rate of error, but they're not a computer, they are human and they fuck up a lot more than a computer.
