n. a bantering insult referring to supposed homosexual activity on the part of the recipient as the cause for less than acceptable performance, or blundering behavior.

Typically used between friends in one on one situations to express annoyance, it was also used in a more chiding manner in mixed company when the recipient had made some social blunder or said something stupid. Often used as a replacement for the subject's first name.

Contrary to popular belief, this term was originally coined in the late 1970's and was used primarily by adolescent boys prior to their discovery in later grades that a continual use of gender preference based slang terms tended to prompt the listening audience (girls) to question the users own gender preference...

Surfacing generations later in popular media and as a call back to past cultural references, this and many other archaic terms are often given erroneous origins, which could be prevented by first checking it with your Old Man before posting it online...
