New Years' Syndrome

Deciding that you going to do something new, too change your life in some way for the better or to achieve something but then becoming to Lazy to commit to it after a while and eventually giving up. Based on new year resolutions that you never keep

Saying that you have decided to go to the gym to get more fit and healthy but after a few days/weeks you start putting it off and then you give up and stop going to the gym. Usually happens during the period of New Year's eve/day and thus the Name New Years' Syndrome is appropriate.

The time period, usually from 7th grade - 10th grade, when one is emo af. This usually results in emo hair, Twenty Øne Pilots shirts, and endless days crying about the breakup of My Chemical Romance. In some special cases, this emoness lasts for much longer, like about until death. Advice: Do NOT call an emo goth. They will flip out.

Person 1: Oh my gosh did you see Jenny today? She dyed all her hair black.
Person 2: Yeah she's just going through her Emo Years
Jenny: *sobs* ITS NOT A PHASE *face contorts into expression of complete anger* ALRIGHT WHO WANTS TO FIGHT ME FIRST
