Not only is it an internet insult, but its not even "cool" or makes you seem smart and "tuff".
All it does it make you look like a moron who spends too much damn time on the computer, therefore resorts to flaming meaningless people and calling them "n00bs"
And it even has this definition of it being a term used to call "people without spelling skills, grammar and show no sign of intelligence"
Please.
But simply posting the word n00b you are showing what a MORON you are. If your flaming somebody you could at least manage to make it an insult worth reading.

A spelling of "newbie" used by people who either:

A: Flunked out of English 101.
B: Too lazy to spell it the right way.
C: A term used by self-righteous a**holes to putdown anyone who can beat them at a game, or loses to them at a game.

Also, some people who call people "newbies" are unwilling to help out these people of lesser skill and feed upon the problem that they complain about in order to be better than them.

n00b 

A 'n00b' is a player that is new to a game, website forum or software application.

It is a word most commonly used now by testicularly challenged 13 year old gamers, it was originaly derived from 'newbies' or 'newbs'. Later becoming 'n00b' in the fields of counterstrike 1.6 and the like.

Although now considered a word to be used by internet newbies themselves, originaly it was neither insulting or derogatry. Instead it was used to inform others that You, or another person, were relatively inexperienced in a certain area.

*on seeing a guy killing team member, or staring at a box for 10 minutes straight*

Rick: Yeah, wtf is his name anyway? I cant read it with all those retarded numbers.
