A synonym for delayed. Named after Shane Phelps, a semi-famous (mostly in Texas) criminal defense attorney who repeatedly delayed one of his client's trials by asking for continuances for reasons such as attending his sister's wedding, visiting his sick father, and visiting his sick father-in-law. The word can be used to describe things other than trials, for example, if a concert or movie release date gets delayed.

"Are you going to Ian's trial next week?" "Oh, you haven't heard? It got Shane'd again." "Man, that's the fifth time it's happened."
