The Bearded Marsrat is a small, rodent like animal which inhabits the deep craters and canyons of the equatorial regions of Mars. It's lifespan is 60-75 earth calendar years, although it undergoes extended periods of deep isolation in accordance with the Mars winter. As the Mars year is approx. 1.88 times the length of that on earth, the Bearded Marsrat will hibernate between 27-38 times in its life.
