An unfortunate aesthetic affliction in which a person appears to have a slight case of Down's Syndrome.

Although Jane was indeed smart, she was often discredited as unintelligent because she had diet-downs. Everyone suspects that her parents were related before they were married.

Diet Southern

Is a person from the border south region of the southern United States such as Maryland,Virginia,Missouri and Oklahoma. Instead of a deep southern accent they have a mild twang and elongate their O’s. They still cook southern food, parts of their state are still extremely politically conservative and religious wise are Methodist or baptist, and they tend to be more down home and hospitable. Sometimes because of the metropolitan areas of these states which tend to be more similar to the Midwest or northeast this region has to re affirm it’s traditional southern identity to the rest of the south.

Eastern shore Maryland isn’t part of the Deep South but it’s definitely diet southern at the least with that twang they have and being below the mason dixon line
