basket case

The phrase has its roots in WW2. When a soldier came into a medical facility with a limb or multiple limbs detatched from his body, the nurses would call the patient a "basket case". As in they had to bring the soldier to them in a basket.

Modern day usage is to describe someone that is in need of extreme assistance(mental or physical).

Well Marge they brought in another basket case, a grenade blew off his legs.

Case Corys

1. Case Western Reserve University's version of Cory S., a tobacco addict. A group of compulsive chain smokers who constantly feel the need to step outside for a cigarette and bring the smell back in with them. As a result the smoke infects all matter within a 100 ft radius of the group.

Usually a group of people of Asian descent although the racial barriers are being crossed.

1. The guys standing outside of KSL every 10 minutes smoking are one of many Case Corys.
