a term from late 80"s early 90's originally refering to sport shoes or trainers that were coming out eg adidas campus puma suedes etc . these trainers were a break from the hi tek styles of the time and they reminded the gen xers at the time of the shoes they wore to school when they were young. this has now expanded anything that is of a retro style or origin.

then;hey those sneakers remind me of my old school sneakers .
