Someone that is not who they say/think they are.

The narcissistic girl saw a badass shark when she looked in the mirro and thought that everyone else could see in her what she saw in herself, but they were looking at her spirit and not her appearance, and all they saw was a plain and bossy poser that everyone had tried to keep from drowning her entire life.

If a guy has convinced people he's Italian (such as an actor in a movie), but he's not really Italian, no matter how believable the guy is, he's not authentic, so he's a poser.

The poser had convinced people that he/she was from hell and that he/she was hell, but since there was no hell, he/she was just another otherwise obscure poser.

A common misspelling of the word "Poseur", used to define someone who pretends to be something he/she is not. This type of person generally prescribes to a particular social group, in order to be trendy or popular; but does not really believe or practice anything that particular group does.

"Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know, I've become emo over the past couple of weeks."
"Really? What bands are you listening to nowadays?"
"Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers."
"Screw you Poser."
"Screw you asshole. It's spelled Poseur."

Poser

Someone who acts like they're from Baltimore even though they're from outside Harrisburg. Someone who has not only a thousand different screen names or online profiles, but also has fictional hometowns or current locations, fictional lives to go with them. A poser tries to outdo other people at silliness while trying to get taken more seriously than everyone else.

The poser was always this and that, always under somebody else's skin to make himself/herself look/feel more authentic. The poser wanted an authentic image.

After acting foolishly in his class, Carl was labeled a bogus poser by his classmates.

Someone who compromises who they are on a daily basis to make money and thinks that if you dont do the same thing, it's coming from your ego.

Compromise is what did that to the poser's head.
