Having southern hospitality is necessary if you want to live there. Mud Island and Beale Street are main attractions. Only place that votes Democrat in TN. Dangerous in some areas, but if you stay away from there a very interesting place to be. Sits on a huge fault line. Disease wiped out most of the population a while ago, causing this city the start over. President Obama came to speak to a high school there in 2011.
