Flyers

Hockey team that represents the city of Philadelphia. Known for their often physical teams and fans that are amongst the most loyal in all of the game.

The teams of the 1970's are the subject of an HBO produced documentary entitled "The Broad Street Bullies" set to debut in May of 2010.

It is often asked what a "Flyer" is? The answer is a fighter pilot during WW2.

Ron Hextall was a terrific representive of the Flyers in the 80's and 90's.

frequent flyer

Known to EMTs and paramedics, an individual who calls 911 often for an ambulance. The caller may be a mental patient or one who seeks attention or a ride to the hospital where he/she will acquire free food, air-conditioning in the summer, or pain medications. Occasionally, a frequent flyer is an individual who has a serious ongoing medical problem but doesn't take care of him/herself and frequently becomes ill to the point where 911 must be summoned.

Mrs. Jones is one of our frequent fliers; we've responded to her house at least once a shift for the past two months.

Every call we get from the public phone at Main and Oak Street is from a frequent flyer.

philadelphia flyers

A hockey team that finished in last place in the 2006-2007 regular season. One of the finest in the NHL, posting a 2nd best overall winning percentage (2nd to Detroit). They will end up with either the 2nd or 1st draft pick this April and will have an ample amount of money (25 million) this off season. It is reasonable to state that the Flyers will "kick ass next season".

Did the Philadelphia Flyers just piss all over the Rangers?
