Chris (enthusiastic): This guy is totally hot.
John: I hear he's a slut.
Chris (disapointed): Damn, and he gave me his number.
John: Sorry man, didn't mean to blow your spot.

Kristy (enthusiastic): She totally digs me.
Dharia: We dated two months ago.
Kristy (disapointed): Why'd you have to blow up a spot?
----------------------------------
Mark (excited): Hey, look what I found, a million dollars.
Ted: Hey, look what I found, a trillion dollars.
Mark (discouraged - thinks to himself): That bastard Ted always blows up a spot.
Kristy (to Ted): Awww...poor Ted, Mark blew your spot didn't he? That's ok, we're still multi-millionaires.
Mark (to Kristy): You didn't find shit.
Kristy (thinks to herself): That bastard Ted always blows up a spot.

Canadian slang, often used dismissively or as a joke -- wow, wish that idiot would blow up real good! Originated during the 1970's in Canada by Second City cast members John Candy and Joe Flaherty. on the comedy show SCTV, a fictitious television network with it's own shows, one of them being the Farm Film Report, where two farmers discuss the latest movies and film theory - a routine parodying Siskal and Ebert. Supposedly the best part of a film is when things get "blowed up real good." They even had some celebrity guests (other cast members dressed up as Dustin Hoffman, Bernadette Peters etc) who were "blowed up real good" during special "Celebrity Blow Up" segments.
"Best part of the movie was when things blowed up," says John Candy. "For sure," replies Joe Flaherty, "they blowed up real good!...real good!!"

1st guy: "dude, I'm nervous that Ashley's pregnant"
2nd guy: "why?"
1st guy: "a few weeks ago I totally blew up her club and now she's late"
Lainey is so freaky, every time we get drunk she lets me blow up her club
