Liar's Paradox

The paradox that is created when someone tells you that he or she is a liar. If he IS a liar and tells you that he is a liar, then he is telling the truth and can't be a liar. If he is NOT a liar, but tells you that he is a liar, then he is telling you a lie, so he must be a liar.

"Hey George! Don't believe a word I say!"
"Man, that's fucked up big time. If I believe what you are saying now, it means I must not believe you, and if I don't believe you, it means I have to believe you! It's the Liar's Paradox!"

Liar’s Dividend

The Liar’s Dividend is a phenomenon where someone can get away with lying by saying that something is “fake news” and if the media attempts to expose the lie it can backfire and only make the lie sound / seem even more credible.

They believed his lies because of a phenomenon called the Liar’s Dividend.

A "no-doc" or "low-doc" mortgage that does not require documentation of income.

Even with his income, couldn't qualify for a large enough loan for the McMansion he wanted, so he got a "liar's loan."

Liar’s Bench

A bench where a group of men would gather to tell tales, some believable, some not so believable. An area around a stove in a shelter during cold seasons where men would gather to tell stories about fishing, hunting, government, etc.

Some women considered the Liar’s Bench to be a bad influence area for the younger generation of boys.

The Liar’s Bench is full of old cronies today.

Liar's Touch

Describes an individual who makes up outlandish lies for attention and/or clout. People inflicted with the Liar's Touch may deny all evidence discrediting their lies and will get angry when confronted. Symptoms include; vague statements, sobbing for sympathy during a general conversation, and bringing up their fake problems on a daily basis.

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with the Liar's Touch, you may be entitled to compensation.

Person 1: "Nick told me his friend moved to New Zealand and died from AIDS!"
Person 2: "No he didn't. Nick has the Liar's Touch."

liar's dice

A drinking game for two or more players. It is a quick game, but is best played with less than 7 players. It is played with two dice and a large plastic cup (24 oz or more).
Play starts with Player 1 who shakes the dice in a cup then turns the cup over onto the table. Player 1 peeks at the dice. The dice make a number and Player 1 tells the next player that number, reading the highest number first. Player 2 can believe Player 1, but must beat that number with his/her own number. Player 2 then shakes the cup and tells a higher number to Player 3 - even if Player 2 does not get a higher number. The game is "Liar's Dice", remember).
The game goes in one direction and continues until either the player with the dice is caught in a lie, or the player who calls it a lie is incorrect.
A pre-determined amount of alcohol is consumed by the "loser". Play resumes quickly.

Liar's Dice is played like this:
Player 1: (shake, sees a 3,4) "forty-three"
Player 2: OK. (shake, sees a 4,5) "fifty-four"
Player 3: Um, ah...ok. (shake, sees a 5,5) "sixty-one"
Player 4: Bullshit! (Player 4 lifts cup exposing Player 3's 5,5)
So, Player 3 sheepishly chugs some pre-defined quantity of alcohol.
Player 4 re-starts the game.

Liar's Hair

When Heat and Humidity reach a perfect balance hair falls into a category where it is known as Liar's Hair.

It is going to rain tomorrow morning. I bet I get liar's hair around noon.
