a person who will only eat fruit that has been discarded by the trees (dropped off by natural causes e.g. the wind)

the ultimate selfless act to only eat that which wants to be eaten (fruit want to be eaten for seed dispersal) and you're only eating it when it wants you to when it has decided to discard it (off the tree).

The advantages gained by winning once lead to more wins in the future which then lead to even more advantages going forward.
This politician experienced a Winball effect after they won their first primary election which caused their approval rating to go up and donations to come in which then led to another win which then caused their approval rating to go up again and more donations to come in.

2. A sudden unexpected piece of fortune. A profit from a business or other sorts. Huge profits without working for them. An unexpected sudden gain or advantage. A sum of money.
