Life finds a way of not finding a way.

A play on the saying "Life finds a way".

The twist here is that sometimes things do not happen when they should have.
Procrastination, global pandemics, outside influence, many things can be a call for this saying.
"I was going to make lunch, but life finds a way of not finding a way."

Never let the lyrics get in the way of the groove

Never let the lyrics get in the way of the groove — a statement that can be taken figuratively, literally and symbolically that teaches the lesson that sometimes simplicity is profundity.

Used symbolically or metaphorically it can apply to people who let Tantric Sex get in the way of good fucking. Never let the “lyrics” get in the way of the “groove”.

Used literally it can refer to a lesson learned by Allee Willis when she co-wrote the song September with Maurice White.

White insisted on using the filler lyric “Ba-dee-ya” in the context of the finished song; and Allee Willis strongly disagreed with this choice and asked:

What the fuck does “Ba-dee-ya” mean?”

To which Maurice White replied:

What The fuck does it matter. Never let the lyrics get in the way of the groove.”

The song was a smash hit.

Figuratively it can be used to mean “less is more”.

Teenager learning to cook doing waaaaaaaay too much:

I’m gonna make a gourmet hamburger with sausage and beef topped with goat cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, mustard, Ketchup, and Vidalia onion.

Friend hungry and ready to eat now:

DUDE! Never let the lyrics get in the way of the groove!!!! Just make us a couple of burgers.
Husband:

First we are going to do eye gazing; then we are going to give each other oil massages. After that we are going to place our right hands on each other’s hearts while chanting a pleasure mantra. Next, we are going to…

Wife interrupts:

Never let the lyrics get in the way of the groove.

way of the road

noun: a saying used to aggrandize a weird, uncomfortable, or unusual comment or situation. the saying originated from the show Trailer Park Boys where Ray, a drunk ex-trucker, vindicated his greasy actions by claiming they're simply an acceptable part of the trucker lifestyle, the "way of the road".
When Bubbles asked why he was throwing his piss jugs all over the trailer park Ray simply replied, "Way of the road Bubs, way of the road."

Bubbles: "But Ray, they're 'ladies of the evening'.. Can't it just be the two of us on the road?"
Ray: "They're friends of the road Bubs, come on- be hospitable. It's the way of the road."

Jenny: "Why did you whip it out at the restaurant? We were having such a nice, quiet meal.."
Kevin: "Idk, way of the road?"

Don't Let The Door Hit You On The Way Out

A metaphor for: "I think you should leave. Do not pause or delay while you are leaving." Generally used when the addressed has been complaining about circumstances that the listener doesn't agree with. It comes from a time when doors were on spring hinges and if you paused in the doorway while exiting, the door would spring closed behind you and hit you on the backside.
"This place stinks. I am too qualified to be here."

"Well, don't let the door hit you on the way out."
