Turning something simple into something complicated by over-analyzing or over-working it.
Jerry simplicated a perfectly good peanut butter and jam sandwich by adding honey and bananas to it.

I hate the colour I painted the bedroom, let's simplicate things by tearing down the whole house and rebuilding a new one instead of repainting it.
