The original urban dictionary in the English language, the medieval poet Geoffrey Chaucer wrote in the vernacular, or the language of the common people. The Canterbury Tales, for example, is a collection of stories filled with plenty of swearing, slang, and fart jokes.

2) An English student who comes across as a bit of a tosser. Quite simply a pun on "Chaucer" and "tosser".
Guy 1: "Hey, did you read the last part of that sonnet? I was busy last night and didn't have time."
Ostentatious chap II: "My old bean - you foolish fool! I say, my old chap: do you consider your education such a trivial affair? Leave this most prestigious academy before you tarnish its name!"
