Sandbox Thermodynamics Theory
An extension of the sandbox idea to thermodynamics: the study of heat, work, and entropy within a controlled, reconfigurable “sandbox” region where boundary conditions and even thermodynamic laws can be altered locally. In such a sandbox, one could temporarily reduce entropy, create perpetual motion within the box (at some external cost), or test radical thermodynamic cycles. The theory is used in thought experiments about Maxwell’s demon, quantum heat engines, and the limits of thermodynamic computing. It remains speculative but pushes the boundaries of classical thermodynamical thinking.
