The detached, stone-faced, heavily-laden, walk-of-misery required to move from parking to check-in, thru TSA, ground transportation, eventually ending at the gate of departure.

No, they're not zombies. They are the beleaguered sea of modern-day-travelers, doing the airport trudge.

an author whose books are most commonly, and probably only, sold well in an airport venue.

these books are all paperback, with lame, intriguing titles like "death before sunrise" or "the english assassin", contain extremely predictable/cliche plots, and feature faux-intense scary and mysterious cover art.
these books are meant to be read on an airplane when there is absolutely nothing better to do.

Dan Silva is such an airport novelist.

Dan Brown could be considered an airport novelist, almost.

Airport Atheist 

A term in which an andividual is an atheist except in life threating scenarios.
Has the same definition as "There are no atheists in foxholes"
Is the belief that one that is usually not religious, will in extreme fear pray or hope for a higher being to look over them.

While in flight the plane has extreme turbulence, one that normally does not believe in God will pray for their life.
They would be considered an Airport Atheist.

When your dropped off at the airport with no kids and no wife, and whilst your drinking you miss your flight.

Friend 1: hey man, I heard Ryan got airport drunk!
Friend 2: yeah man, I heard he had four manhattans, missed his flight, and his sister had to give him a ride home.

airport hug 

When meeting someone at an airport, and hugging intimately like you haven't seen them in years, which actually is the case for some.
Some may drop their bags and run towards that person.

I haven't seen my best friend in a year, we shared an airport hug once I landed.
