To be ruined or vandalized, specifically referring to technology. Originating from computer nerd/hacker culture, the phrase literally describes a box (computer) that has been rocked.
I box rocked my precious ~/ partition when I attempted an in place upgrade from ext4 to btrfs.

John got shit-canned after his company's server got box rocked by some script kiddie.
