A rebound is someone who you date/go out with to keep yourself busy and you use him/her to keep your mind off your ex who you still have feelings for.

note: rebounds are suppose to be atleast a bit better in some way to help keep your mind off your ex better.

(1): The person doing the dumping.
(2): The person picking up the dumpee.
(3): The person who just got dumped.
