1. In common, everyday language when you have a theory it means you simply have a guess. It doesn't have to be supported by evidence or fact.

2. In the scientific community, an explanation supported by a evidence and is logically sound.

2. The theory of Evolution logically explains why life is so diverse, and the evidence that supports it includes fossils, DNA, living specimens, and bacterial research.

Hym "99% theory. 1% potential for practical application. And as far as needing to talk to people who have done things is concerned, no. I don't. If what I'm saying it is concordant with objective reality then I am CORRECT. Yours if literally an apeal to anecdote. 'You have to accept the anecdotal experience of people regardless of whether or not it's consistent with what generally happens in reality.' Wrong! No I don't. The inverse is actually true. If what generally happens is inconsistent with your anecdotal experience, you need to cede your anecdotal experience as evidence."
