shufti 

A word of Arabic origin meaning "look!" Was brought back to Britain after the Second World War by returning soldiers who had learnt the word from Arab peddlars of dirty postcards. The peddlars used to keep the postcards hidden inside their coats and would show them to soldiers saying "Shufti, shufti!" - "Look, look!"

Noun. Alcoholic drinks you have after working a shift in any service industry. Can be one or many multiple number of drinks that may sometimes lead to shenanigans or the next morning. 2. Often free for BOH employees and almost always necessary post shift for all staff. Contagious in dive bars

Noun and Verb.
