The use of three small black dots signifies several things happening in the terms of grammar and communication.

1. Sending a text response that's waiting for a response or to send.

2. Used at the end of a statement to signify that one is done speaking but awaiting a response.

3. Used on intro profiles by guys for random reasons.

4. Used as a pause or to break in a sentence before continuing or starting an idea.

5. A way to make someone nervous over text by withholding one's response in a conversation.

6. Three dots that are commonly identified by coming after a comma to create a break in the conversation.

7. Called an Ellipse which is a dot or dash similar to the moon phase that's occurred sparsely in the year with little light.
Texting a friend:

GIrl 1: " Hey did you see that Sarah broke up with Kyle?"

...

GIrl 2: " No, what happened? I thought they were together?"

Girl 1: " They were, but then he cheated with Jenna from cheer and he blamed her for not trusting him, etc,".

...

Girl 2: " That's crazy, I feel so bad for her, they looked so good together, I can't believe he did that to her!"

Girl 1: " Me too, he's such a douche and for blaming her for something that's not even her fault!"
