pseudo disco

A musical genre refering to many newer "indie" bands who play catchy, danceable songs. The tunes usually have a very basic "disco" beat consisting mostly of snare and hi-hat patterns. The guitar is usually very brisk sounding and slightly overdriven, consisting primarily of barre chords. The basslines are typical disco-esque and driving. What makes these bands psuedo disco is that they're several decades late and claim to be "rock" or "indie".

A primary example of a pseudo disco band is Franz Ferdinand and they are awesome.

diy

Short for "Do It Yourself", which is a phrase used when a person makes something themself rather than buying it pre-assembled. Often diyers try to do it themselves in an attempt to save money. Many an idiot as made the mistake of trying DIY only to have wasted time and money with no satisfying end result.

Oh no! Dad's going to try to fix the car DIY. Remember the last time he did that? Take cover!

1. An absence of anything/something.
2. A reply used when a person doesn't feel like explaining themselves.
3. When something is wrong but a person doesn't want to admit it, often used in conjunction with words such as okay and fine

In the black there was nothing.

Person one: What're you doing?
Person two: Nothing (as they continue to do something)

Nothing is wrong, I'm fine.

A genre of music, usually experimental sounding. The performers are called artwankers. Only pretencious elitists enjoy listening to artwank.
