There was a gunpoint getdown 2 blocks over and several of my homies were shot. It's the wild west out here.

Dogsplaining

My golden retriever ran into my room with his leash, he was dogsplaining that he had to poop.

Post-traumatic togetherness

The unity and love people have for individuals and groups that they may not have had without a shared tragedy. The drama and adversity bring unlikely groups together. Conservatives suddenly love liberals and vice versa, straight people love LGBT people, white people love black people and Latinos etc. mass shooting, terrorism, mass casualty, tragedy, trauma, death, gun, killings, law enforcement, first responders
The post-traumatic togetherness after the shooting was amazing. The love people showed each other gave me faith in humanity.

Probing emotions

The effort journalists and tv hosts make to get the people they interview to cry on camera. The emotional response gets media attention and drives ratings. emotion, crying, drama, if it bleeds it leads, media, journalism, soap opera, bating, interview
I get so sick of these tv hosts trying to get natural disaster victims to cry about the loss of their homes. It's so opportunistic and disgusting, this probing emotions crap is just wrong-this is what journalism has become.

hisogyny

The discrimination faced by men from some women who use their gender to gain an advantage in life. They accuse men of sexism or bullying if they don't get their way and engage in passive-aggressive manipulation in the workplace and romantic relationships to gain the upper hand. misogyny, sexism, discrimination, feminist, feminism, woman, women, female, women's studies, all-girls, ladies only, man's world
I can't believe that when I go to the bar, women always use hisogyny to get free admission to clubs as well as free drinks and appetizers from desperate guys.

corporate ghosting

The subtle process by which a company eliminates black people in prominent positions in order to make themselves seem more elite. The black folks disappear like ghosts and seem to vanish without great fanfare. whitening, ghosting, white flight, corporate America, elitism, ghetto, glass ceiling, executives, Fortune 500, diversity, chamber of commerce, corporation, business
I've noticed a lot of corporate ghosting in the media since President Obama is nearing the end of his term. The anchors used to be more diverse and now they have returned to mostly white men. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted!
