a section of a city. for example, in new orleans. there are different sections, mostly divided by streets called "wards" 3rd ward, 13th ward, 10th ward, 5th, 9th 17th etc. many having different names based on the streets theyre on.

a jazz marching band. usually in New Orleans. you can see these people (marching bands) play music with instruments such as trumpets, saxaphone etc goin in a parade after someone dies.

checkmate 

surrounding a person and threatening their life..i guess.. like in "still bout it" where silkk the shocker says "checkmate" whem he sneaks up to tha guy with a gun. tha other guy has nowhere to go. based on the term they use in chess except in real life.
